Reporting to Design Manager, this position is responsible to translate sales orders into accurate shop drawings maintaining design integrity and within an appropriate time frame to include plant production and to meet the customer’s delivery requirements.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, spec sheets and or other data for residential and commercial projects.

• Develop and prepare design sketches with CAD (Mitek) software to produce final layouts.

• Complete documentation packages and produce drawings for the plant, customers and engineers.

 

Job Requirements - Core Competencies:

• Experience in truss/floor design software, or a diploma/certificate in Architectural, Civil, or Construction Engineering

• Strong attention to detail

• Motivated, enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn.

• Strong understanding of both residential and commercial building design

• Having knowledge of Part 9 and Part 4 building code is needed.

• Demonstrated skills working in a team environment.

• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service

• Experience with complex problem-solving projects.

• MiTek design software experience recommended.
