Job Description:

Sales Manager Winnipeg, Manitoba Building Materials Interior Finishings

Reporting to the VP Sales, this role leads the sales activity for this established branch in Winnipeg servicing the Central Canada region.

Our client is an established national wholesale distributor of interior finishing products selling to local dealers and pulling through demand from developers, architects and designers, and contractors. This role leads the sales efforts and has showroom sales, outside sales, specifications sales and dealer sales reporting to it.

As sales manager, you will:

  • Drive success in the team through:
    • your ability to inspire the team,
    • your coaching and mentoring skills,
    • your ability to build systems and processes into the sales pipeline,
    • the creation of an accountability culture,
    • your ability to analyze the pipeline and find opportunities within it,
    • your understanding of the local construction ecosystem,
    • and your ability to lead from the front.

This is a hands on sales leadership role where this person acts as the quarterback for the team.

You will train, lead, sell, manage, and plan whilst building behaviors and processes that will be repeatable and scalable to set the business up for many years of success.

The business nationally is transitioning and has a proven model of success which has been shown to work in other markets. They need a motivated leader in Winnipeg to replicate this success and approach the transformation with energy and determination that tangible change is very achievable and will result in the whole team seeing greater success.

We are looking for a motivated sales professional either with sales management experience or ready to step up into the role.

Knowledge of the Winnipeg construction market is important so ideally this person will have been selling building materials, ideally interior finishings, that are specified through the architecture and design channel. This is a growing, ambitious business that will provide long term career opportunities for the successful candidate.

Trips to Europe with customers are a regular occurrence and there will be opportunities for you to take part in these trips. The product portfolio is mid to high end and predominately European. It is beautiful product that is in strong demand. The leadership team are high energy and motivated for growth and willing to invest in the right person.
