Job Description:

Business Development Manager - Multi-family Residential (High Rise) Toronto, ON Building Materials

We are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead client management and development activity across the Toronto market. Our client is a well known manufacturer of interior finish products primarily used in multi-family development applications. This position will be responsible for creating pull-through demand with high-rise, multi-family developers, specifiers and the distributors which support them within the territory. The role will inherit a developed and well-managed, active book of accounts and clients, with lots of opportunity to grow and expand market share further.


The successful candidate will develop long-term, strategic relationships with key high-rise multi-family Developers, Architects, Designers, and Distributors within the region. The role is unique in its management of the end-to-end ecosystem of the high-rise, multi-family development market segment, and will work closely with senior-level decision-makers at the developer & builder level, as well as with Architects & Interior Designers.

We are looking for an individual who is a self-starter, who can work independently and who has prior client management experience. Someone who understands the construction market and specifically the vital relationships between developers, designers, and distribution partners would be advantageous. A passion for interior design would also be viewed as an asset for this role.

Experience Minimum of 2+ years experience in a B2B sales, Business Development, or Territory Management position with a proven track record of success Prior knowledge of working with specifiers to educate, promote and hold specifications through to application is desired. Experience working in a CRM environment for project tracking is an asset. Technical & Professional Abilities Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills Track record of returning value to audiences and does not rely heavily on price-driven execution - able to sell on value, not just price. Strong computer knowledge and command using MS Office Suite Additional Requirements Solution-oriented, curious, active listener who is empathetic and able to develop collaborative solutions Results oriented and target motivated.
