About the Company We are a Whitehorse Yukon-based prefab construction company. We build residential projects ranging from custom and spec homes to multi-family townhouse developments and Commercial projects. We have contracts around Yukon in many different communities.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Foreman/Crew Lead for Construction to join our team. As a Site Foreman/ Crew Lead, under the supervision of the Project Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a team of construction workers and ensuring that they complete projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment and ensuring that all workers comply with safety regulations and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Supervise a team of construction workers, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Supervise, Coordinate, and direct Subcontractors toward the project goals.
Report the work progress on builder-trend.
Ensure that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and that all workers comply with safety regulations and procedures.
Participate in safety meetings and ensure that safety protocols are being always followed.
Coordinate all the building inspections; Material take-offs; Building material inventory.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop project plans and schedules.
Monitor project progress, adjust schedules and plans with the Manager as needed to ensure that deadlines are met, and work is completed to specifications.
Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to existing team members.
Perform quality inspections of work completed by team members and ensure that it meets quality standards.
Ability to travel to work within the Yukon Communities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/ diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) or GED, a degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with experience in commercial construction.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and equipment, as well as safety regulations and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSH guidelines
