We are currently seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate the safe and efficient delivery of building materials, ensuring smooth and timely deliveries on short-haul trips within the Edmonton and surrounding region.

Consolidated Gypsum Supply Ltd. distributes building materials and supplies. Our clients include general contractors, drywall, insulation and roofing contractors. We are seeking a Warehouse/Yard Supervisor to lead our warehouse team in Edmonton. This position oversees daily operations in our yard and warehouse, where you’ll work with the team in a hands-on role.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, as the Site Superintendent you will direct and oversee on-site construction activities. You also ensure construction follows established design, quality, budget and schedule.

Our Cranbrook location is currently looking for highly motivated and customer-focused individuals with a Class 1 or 3 license with Air Brake endorsement for the role of Delivery Driver. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of a commercial vehicle and the transportation of building materials and the placement on customer job sites. Together with other team members, the Driver works to exceed customer expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform circle-checks and complete logbook entries

• Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and servicing

• Verify load security and accuracy

• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and trades on job sites

• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise

• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed

• Transport goods following rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standards

• Deliver materials as directed by customers

• Prioritize personal safety and the safety of all around you

• Act as an ambassador of the company

• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures

• Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate must possess:

• Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement

• Able to drive standard transmission

• Current clean driver’s abstract

• Effective written and oral communication skills

• Knowledge of basic mathematics

• Basic hand tool skills

• Completion of high school preferred

Physical requirements include:

• Able to lift and carry heavy loads

• Sit for long periods of time

• Frequent climbing up and down stairs

• Push, pull, bend and twist to transfer materials

Shoemaker Drywall Supplies is looking for a motivated sales professional to fill the role of Account Manager.

As a proven leader in our industry, Shoemaker focuses on core products such as drywall, insulation, steel studs, roofing products and ceiling systems. As a division of GMS Canada, a publicly traded company operating throughout North America, our focus is on the Western Canadian market covering Manitoba to British Columbia. This position is located at our office in Regina, SK.

This position will be responsible for all sales activities from lead generation to bid closure within the assigned territory. Customer satisfaction, increased revenue generation, and business development initiatives which align with our vision and values are the primary responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage an established account base to meet targets

Identify and secure new opportunities for sales within the territory for all product areas

Effectively build and maintain client relationships

Maintain regular client call schedules and in-person communication

Work with vendors to ensure quote accuracy including costing and timeline accountability

Position Requirements:

Post-Secondary Degree in Business or Marketing preferred

Previous building materials industry experience an asset

Proven ability to develop and foster strong relationships with customers and vendors

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter to join our growing team. As a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and completing construction projects according to specifications, deadlines, and budget. You will also be responsible for supervising and training other carpenters, as well as ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Plan, execute, and complete construction projects according to specifications, deadlines, and budget.

Supervise and train other carpenters, including apprentices and journeymen.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.

Order and coordinate the delivery of building materials and equipment required for each project.

Operate a variety of hand and power tools to perform carpentry tasks, including measuring, cutting, and installing building materials such as wood, metal, and drywall.

Maintain a safe and efficient work environment, following all safety protocols and procedures.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other contractors to ensure projects are completed to the required standards.

Maintain accurate records of materials, tools, and work completed.

Follow all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter certification.

Several years of experience in carpentry, with a proven track record of successful completion of construction projects.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and requirements.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to train and supervise other carpenters effectively.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and find solutions to complex construction issues.

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods of time.

Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

As a Site Foreman/ Crew Lead, under the supervision of the Project Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a team of construction workers and ensuring that they complete projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment and ensuring that all workers comply with safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of construction workers, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Supervise, Coordinate, and direct Subcontractors toward the project goals.

Report the work progress on builder-trend.

Ensure that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and that all workers comply with safety regulations and procedures.

Participate in safety meetings and ensure that safety protocols are being always followed.

Coordinate all the building inspections; Material take-offs; Building material inventory.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop project plans and schedules.

Monitor project progress, adjust schedules and plans with the Manager as needed to ensure that deadlines are met, and work is completed to specifications.

Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to existing team members.

Perform quality inspections of work completed by team members and ensure that it meets quality standards.

Ability to travel to work within the Yukon Communities.

Qualifications:

High school diploma/ diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) or GED, a degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with experience in commercial construction.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

Knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and equipment, as well as safety regulations and procedures.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSH guidelines
