Job Description:

Our client is an established building materials distribution business with excellent reputation for service, an established customer base and a stable, employee focused environment. Central to the evolution of the business, they are creating Regional Sales Manager positions to lead the three key regions across their business; British Columbia, Alberta and Central (Manitoba / Saskatchewan).

The Role

These Regional Sales Managers will play a key role in developing a more structured sales process for their respective regions.

Working closely with operations but leading sales and accountable for top line revenue, these sales leaders will develop regional sales strategy, work with sales representatives to improve their planning and sales process skills, build key account plans and work with customers to deepen commercial relationships, review current sales activities, define best practice, provide training and development for the sales team, lead sales meetings and contribute to national sales meetings. Regional Sales Managers work closely with the Regional General Managers to determine addressable market and build sales budgets, provide sales forecasting and market information to the rest of the business, collaborate with other Regional Sales Managers to evolve the business's sales structure including technology and process.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for a sales professional that has been exposed to a successful and established sales process. We need someone who understands the value of people and relaizes that to maximize the performance of a sales team there needs to be a succesful sales process to follow, clear goals and objectives, effective measurement and follow up, and a team held accountable for performance. We do not want someone that manages by numbers but rather leads with structure and accountability a key tool in thier tool box. Building materials experience would be an advantage but not essential. More important is the experience of exposure to a structured sales process and your own leadership style.
